On June 22, the Department of Buddhist Studies at Fo Guang University officially launched its “Internship Experience” program, a three-week internship designed to bridge classroom learning with real-world practice. A total of 16 students have been assigned to five key departments—Dharma Hall, Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum, Volunteer Association, Samantabhadra Shrine, and the Humanistic Buddhism Communication Group—where they will engage in administrative work, reception services, and event support, developing practical skills for future career paths.
The opening ceremony was held at the Fo Guang Shan Tathāgata Shrine in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Distinguished guests offering words of encouragement included Vice President of Fo Guang University and Dean of the College of Buddhist Studies Prof. Lee Kun-Chung, Buddha Museum Deputy Director Venerable Youxian, Director of the Administrative Center Venerable Miaohui, Director of the Dharma Hall Venerable Huiji, Director of the Volunteer Association Venerable Huiyi, internship course instructor Assistant Professor Chien Jui-Yao, and department supervisors.
Jointly organized by Fo Guang Shan, the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum, and the Department of Buddhist Studies at Fo Guang University, this internship program aims to provide students with an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge to real-world settings in Buddhist service and Dharma propagation. The goal is to cultivate a new generation of Buddhist talents equipped with both strong theoretical foundations and hands-on experience.
