Research Expertise: Psychology of Buddhism, Buddhism and Psychotherapy, Psychology of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, Epistemology and Research Methods.

My research focuses on developing psychology rooted in Chinese culture through theoretical construction and empirical studies, with the aim of advancing toward an autonomous social science. Drawing upon the Buddhist wisdom within our cultural heritage—integrating Confucian and Daoist insights—I work to construct a self-cultivation psychology, along with scientific theories, empirical research, and applications, that are applicable to both Chinese and Western societies. My research has been supported nearly 40 projects by the National Science and Technology Council, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the European Bial Foundation, as well as private enterprises and foundations. I have published over 80 articles in Chinese and English journals and psychological test publications, including more than ten theoretical works, and the English monograph Foundations of Chinese Psychotherapies: Towards Self-Enlightenment (2021, Springer International Publishing).
